It's been a couple of months since I last posted--but I try to keep current on
Twitter
about as much as possible, so hopefully no one hasn't been too out of the loop!
Two things: first, we are doing a small pop up afternoon tea at the
Charles Dickens Museum this Saturday for 9.90 per person and if it goes well, we might make it our new Satellite location for Theobalds Road as it's right on 49 Doughty Street! Dickens wrote
The Pickwick Papers,
Oliver Twist and
Nicholas Nickleby while living at 49 Doughty Street, so that's quite a fun fact.
Secondly, yes, it's true, we are opening a 2nd location at
One New Change, October 28th, 2010. It's quite a big step for all of us here at BOB and everyone's quite excited! It's an unusual partnership with Land Securities as they are taking an active stance in supporting independent shops like ours, and providing something quite special for the City community. I think it's rather amazing to see a landlord take such an active interest in creating a unique environment instead of the typical cookie cutter high streets we see so often nowadays.
While we are on something that could be considered 'high street' we're doing everything in our power to stay independent and be unique. Well we'll see how it goes. ;)
